5This phone is really good

By Fares

I don't know why it gets so many bad reviews, youtube may not be this phone's strongest point, but come on! it has a gorgeous querty keyboard with a D-pad on the left side!! you know what that means!! you can play videogames with the D-pad on the left like a regular videogame controller, idk why people is spending so much money on the xperia play if they can have this at a quarter of the price. Yeah software is a little old (android 1.5 cupcake) but I already updated it on the motorola webpage to android 2.1 eclair and it works wonderfully, motoblur is good, and as I say... you don't get a slide qwerty key pad really often in this price range... (exept for those useless qwerty keypad phones who don't even have wifi conection, and do not even run android).

Well I've had this phone since it came out, and I was really happy, then I changed it to the nokia n8 (wich sucked by the way) and I couldn't find myself using the onscreen keyboard, I looked around for phones with D-pads on the left for videogames but guess what? NONE!! so I had to order this one again and now I'm happy with my phone again.

1. Gorgeous design

2. It's fancily heavy

3. Has the best keyboard

4. Software upgradable to android 2.1 eclair

5. $162.00dll ARE YOU KIDDING ME??!!!

6. It's everything you need.

3FINE FOR THE PRICE

By Joaquin E. Goldaracena

I have been using this cellphone for over one year and all I can say that it's fine for the price.

I experienced many crashes in almost every app ie. alarm, reminder, motoblur etc which sometimes can be a little bit irksome. There are many apps you can add at the android market, but many of them are really useless and they make your phone really sluggish.

The camera it's ok, though it does not have a flash.

And finally a noteworthy aspect of this devise is that it doesn't have a hung key, therefore sometimes its annoyingly difficult to find it at the screen.

Overall, this phone is fine for what you pay but if you are looking for useful devise this is not the one you are looking for.

1The relationship you wish you never got into

By Brian Choo

Like a fool getting into his first real relationship i invested in this mobile phone too quickly without really knowing anything i was about to get involved in.

design:

the build quality and general aesthetics are among the better designs Motorola Mobile Division has come up with. aside from the nearly useless D-pad, this is a solid slider phone with a surprisingly elegant keyboard.

performance:

as a mid-range Android device the Cliq comes with basic specs and offers lots of features for social networking via Motorola's proprietary skin MotoBlur. however, the longer i had the phone the more i noticed its short falls. this could have been a decent and mildly competitive device had Motorola offered updates as the Android OS base continued to evolve. over time the Cliq suffered from massive lag, regular random reboots, features becoming non-responsive, apps crashing and a plethora of other things that make this an unbearable mistake.

overall:

owning this for close to a year i've recently jumped to the Nexus S to find what a true Android experience is like. granted every OEM developing Android phones puts on their own skin, but from my experience MotoBlur is the worst of them. its heavy and clunky like an old truck that just needs to be put down.

there's no price that this device is worth (even for free). unless you want to experience the frustration of an orphaned device and video record yourself raging on it, it would be in best interest for you to turn away and go elsewhere for a device with competitive specs and good OEM support.
